Indians acquire P Asencio from Braves Mar 29th 2012, 19:05 Goodyear, AZ –  The Cleveland Indians acquired pitcher Jairo Asencio from the Atlanta Braves on Thursday in exchange for cash considerations. Asencio spent most of the 2011 season with the Triple-A Gwinnett Braves, where he was 3-2 with a 1.81 ERA in 47 games, while saving a league-best 26 games in 27 chances. He had three different stints with the Braves last season and made 10 appearances this spring, posting a 3.27 ERA with 12 strikeouts and three walks. In nine career relief appearances for the Braves, Asencio has a record of 0-1 with a 6.23 earned-run average, eight strikeouts and seven walks.
