Peter Lawrie leads Sicilian Open Mar 29th 2012, 17:32 Sicily, Italy –  Peter Lawrie fired an eight-under 64 on Thursday to take the first-round lead of the Sicilian Open at Verdura Golf & Spa Resort. Lawrie's first-round score was a new course record after Stephen Dodd, Jose Manuel Lara and Alastair Forsyth all had 65s in last year's inaugural tournament. Soren Kjeldsen, Jamie Donaldson and Tano Goya each posted rounds of seven- under 65 and share second place.
