Amsterdam, Netherlands – Ajax kept the pressure on leaders 0 win over PSV Eindhoven at the Amsterdam Arena.
AZ Alkmaar notched a 1-0 win over RKC Waalwijk earlier in the day to move four points clear at the top of the Eredivisie, but Ajax moved back to within a point as the club got second-half goals from Ismail Aissati and Siem De Jong to win its sixth straight match.
Aissati's goal arrived in the 56th minute to break the scoreless deadlock, and De Jong tallied his seventh goal of the campaign shortly after the hour mark by converting from the penalty spot.
While Ajax has clawed its way back into title contention, PSV has fallen five points off the pace having lost three of its last four games.
Feyenoord moved into fifth place after a 3-0 victory at last-place De Graafschap as the visitors scored all three of their goals in the final 20 minutes, while Heracles moved eight points above the bottom three after getting two goals from Ninos Gouriye in a 3-1 triumph over Utrecht.
