Key Biscayne, FL –  American slugger Mardy Fish posted a round victory Monday at the $3.973 million Sony Ericsson Open.

The eighth-seeded Fish handled 28th-seeded South African Kevin Anderson 6-4, 6-3 in just over an hour-and-a-half at Crandon Park. Fish tallied four service breaks, while the former University of Illinois star Anderson could mange only one break on Day 6 of this Masters event.

Next up for Fish will be 12th seed Nicolas Almagro, who rolled past 20th- seeded fellow Spaniard Fernando Verdasco 6-3, 6-4.

Another third-round result saw 17th-seeded Frenchman Richard Gasquet outlast Spain's Albert Ramos 6-2, 5-7, 6-3.

Monday's schedule also features the likes of world No. 1 Novak Djokovic, former top-ranked great Roger Federer and former U.S. Open champion Juan Martin del Potro. The two-time Miami champion Djokovic topped former No. 1 Rafael Nadal in last year's finale here. The two-time Miami winner Federer is fresh off his Masters title at Indian Wells two weeks ago.

The third-seeded Federer's Monday opponent will be 31st-seeded fellow two- time Miami titlist Andy Roddick. The Swiss icon is 21-2 lifetime against the former No. 1 Roddick, including a 1-1 mark at this tournament.

The 2012 Miami champion will collect $659,775.
