Grizzlies sign G Arenas Mar 20th 2012, 19:14 Memphis, TN –  The Memphis Grizzlies signed free agent guard Gilbert Arenas on Tuesday. Arenas split time last season between the Washington Wizards and Orlando Magic, averaging 10.8 points, 3.9 assists and 2.7 rebounds through 70 games. But the three-time All-Star was waived last December when Orlando designated him as its amnesty player. The amnesty clause allows each team to waive one of its player contracts that was in effect prior to the 2011-12 season and have 100 percent of the player's salary removed from the team's salary for salary cap and tax purposes. A former second-round draft choice by the Golden State Warriors in 2001, Arenas has played in 535 career games with Golden State, Washington and Orlando. He has career averages of 21.2 points, 5.4 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.6 steals a game.
