Johnson, Durant named NBA Players of the Week Mar 26th 2012, 19:27 New York, NY –  Atlanta Hawks guard Joe Johnson and Oklahoma City Thunder guard Kevin Durant have been named Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played through Sunday, March 25. Johnson played a key role in the Hawks 4-1 week with game-tying three-pointers against Cleveland on March 21 and Utah on March 25, in addition to a game- winning three-pointer at Washington on March 24. Johnson finished the week with averages of 23.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists. Durant closed out his week with averages of 29.5 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.0 steals to help the Thunder to a 3-1 record. The Texas University product posted 40 points and a season-high 17 rebounds in a double overtime win over Minnesota on March 23. Other nominees included Johnson's teammate Josh Smith, Houston's Goran Dragic, Miami's Dwyane Wade, Minnesota's Kevin Love, New York's Amare Stoudemire, Orlando's Ryan Anderson and Utah's Al Jefferson.
