Lotina appointed manager of Villarreal Mar 19th 2012, 17:22 Villarreal, Spain –  Villarreal confirmed on Monday that the club has appointed Miguel Angel Lotina as manager for the remainder of the season. Lotina replaces Jose Molina, who was fired on Sunday following a 1-0 defeat against Levante that leaves the club one place and three points above the relegation zone. Molina was the third coach this season at Villarreal but lasted only 11 games after he won just three of them at the helm. Lotina has spent time in charge of Osasuna, Celta Vigo, Espanyol and Real Sociedad, while he has been out of coaching since leaving Deportivo last May.
