Key Biscayne, FL – Former champion Andy Murray was an easy round winner Friday at the Sony Ericsson Open, an ATP Masters event.
The fourth-seeded Murray, who enjoyed an opening-round bye, mauled Colombian Alejandro Falla 6-2, 6-3 in an uneventful 76-minute affair at Crandon Park.
The three-time Grand Slam runner-up Murray was the Miami champ in 2009. He now awaits the Milos Raonic-Arnaud Clement winner.
Also on Friday's schedule is former top-ranked star Rafael Nadal, who was last year's Miami runner-up to the top seed here, two-time titlist Novak Djokovic.
The winner of this lucrative $3.973 million tournament will claim $659,775.
