Nationals ace Strasburg to start Opening Day Mar 21st 2012, 15:37 Viera, FL –  Stephen Strasburg will be the Washington Nationals' Opening Day starter on April 5 against the Chicago Cubs. The 23-year-old fireballer missed most of last season because he was recovering from Tommy John surgery. Strasburg returned in September and registered a 1.50 earned run average in five appearances. During his rookie season in 2010, the 2009 first-overall pick went 5-3 with a 2.91 ERA and 92 strikeouts in 12 starts. Strasburg is expected to pitch approximately 160 innings this season.
