| Redskins, Cowboys file grievance against NFL Mar 25th 2012, 18:39 The Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins have filed a grievance against the NFL, challenging the salary cap reductions imposed on them. According to Jason La Canfora of NFL.com, the case will be heard by Stephen Burbank of the University of Pennsylvania. It is called a system arbitration case (Article 15 of the CBA). Earlier this month, the Cowboys and Redskins were docked millions of dollars in salary cap space by the league for piling money into an uncapped season. The teams front-loaded contracts in 2010 to save money under the cap over the past two seasons. The NFL reportedly stripped the Redskins of $36 million and the Cowboys of $10 million in cap space. | |
