Sochaux's Butin out for the season Mar 26th 2012, 17:38 Montbeliard, France –  Sochaux's bid to avoid relegation took a hit as it was confirmed on Monday that striker Edouard Butin will take no further part in the season. Butin sustained a cruciate ligament injury against Lyon on Saturday when he collided with Lyon goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, and the club confirmed in a statement that he will miss the next six months. "The initial diagnosis after Edouard Butin's injury against Lyon has been confirmed today following (MRI) scans. "The striker will have an operation on Tuesday morning on a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. He will be unavailable for six months." Butin leads the team with six goals in 25 Ligue 1 appearances, but he will miss the final nine games with Sochaux sitting two points from safety.
