Tresey to coordinate Youngstown State's defense Mar 20th 2012, 20:19 Youngstown, OH –  Youngstown State football coach Eric Wolford announced on Tuesday that Joe Tresey is the team's new defensive coordinator. Known for an aggressive style and fiery personality, Tresey was the defensive coordinator at UCLA last season. The well-traveled coach, a 1982 Ohio State graduate, also served as a defensive coordinator on the FBS level at South Florida (2009), Cincinnati (2007-08) and Akron (2002-03). Youngstown State also named Glenn Davis, a defensive quality control coach at USF the last two years, as its cornerbacks coach. The Penguins are coming off a 6-5 season, including 4-4 in the Missouri Valley Football Conference. They were the only team to beat FCS national champion North Dakota State.
