Bruins ink Thornton to 2-year deal Mar 19th 2012, 21:39 Boston, MA –  The Boston Bruins signed forward Shawn year contract Monday. Per club policy, no financial terms were released. Thornton, a two-time Stanley Cup winner, has totaled four goals and 12 points with 145 penalty minutes in 70 games for the defending champions this year. A gritty winger from Oshawa, Ontario, the 34-year-old Thornton has compiled 29 goals, 72 points and 763 PIM over 439 games with Chicago, Anaheim and Boston since breaking into the NHL during the 2002-03 season.
