Pats bring back WR Stallworth, sign QB Hoyer Mar 23rd 2012, 21:09 Foxboro, MA –  The New England Patriots signed unrestricted free agent wide receiver Donte Stallworth and restricted free agent quarterback Brian Hoyer on Friday. Stallworth, 31, is a veteran of nine NFL seasons and has spent time with New Orleans, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Baltimore and Washington. Last season with the Redskins, Stallworth played in 11 games, but caught just 22 passes for 309 yards and two touchdowns. Stallworth played with the Pats during their memorable 2007 season. He participated in all 16 games with 46 catches for 697 yards and three touchdowns. He enjoyed the best season of his career with the Saints in 2005 when he played in every game and caught 70 passes for 945 yards and seven touchdowns. In 114 career games, Stallworth has 320 catches for 4,774 yards and 34 touchdowns. Hoyer, 26, has served as the backup to Tom Brady since signing with New England as a rookie free agent out of Michigan State in 2009. He has played in 13 games, completing 27-of-43 passes for 286 yards and one touchdown.
