Nationals put Tracy on DL
May 28th 2012, 17:26

Miami, FL –  The Washington Nationals placed third baseman Chad Tracy on the 15-day disabled list on Monday with a right adductor strain.

Tracy left Saturday's 8-4 win over the Braves with what appeared to be a groin injury. The 32-year-old will reportedly receive an MRI on Tuesday from the specialist who performed his double sports hernia operation in November.

Tracy is hitting .265 with three home runs and 12 RBI this season.

To replace Tracy Washington called up outfielder Corey Brown from Triple-A Syracuse. Brown hit .297 with 12 home runs and 30 RBI over 48 games in the minors this season.

The Nationals also moved outfielder Jayson Werth from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

Werth broke his wrist on May 6 when he dove to catch a ball in right field.
