Budapest, Hungary –  Top seeds Sara Errani and Ksenia Pervak were among Tuesday's opening-round winners at the $220,000 Budapest Grand Prix tennis event, a clay-court French Open tune-up.

The Italian Errani blitzed Luxembourg's Mandy Minella 6-1, 6-1, while Pervak grinded one out against fellow Russian Vera Dushevina, 6-1, 5-7, 7-6 (8-6), in just over three hours at Romai Tennis Academy.

Errani will meet Hungarian qualifier Melinda Czink in the second round, while Pervak will encounter another fellow Russian, Elena Vesnina.

An upset came when Italian Alberta Brianti upended eighth-seeded Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu 6-4, 5-7, 6-3. Begu was last year's runner-up here to another Italian, Roberta Vinci.

Additional Day-2 wins came for Romanian Alexandra Cadantu, Uzbekistani qualifier Akgul Amanmuradova, Czech Barbora Zahlavova Strycova, Taipei's Su- Wei Hsieh and the aforementioned Czink, who snuck past qualifier Mervana Jugic-Salkic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, 6-7 (3-7), 6-0, 6-3.

The 2012 Budapest champion will collect $37,000.
