| Flyers top Devils on Briere's OT winner Apr 29th 2012, 22:34 Philadelphia, PA – Danny Briere scored his second goal of the game 4:36 into overtime and the Philadelphia Flyers beat the New Jersey Devils 4-3 on Sunday to open their Eastern Conference semifinal series. Briere's game winner came minutes after he had a goal disallowed because it was kicked in with his left skate. James van Riemsdyk and Claude Giroux also scored for the Flyers, while Ilya Bryzgalov made four of his 23 saves in overtime. Zach Parise, Travis Zajac and Petr Sykora scored for the Devils, with Sykora's goal tying the game 11:22 into the third period. Martin Brodeur gave up four goals on 36 shots. Game 2 of the best-of-seven series is Tuesday night in Philadelphia. | |
