Maryland's Stoglin declares for NBA Draft
Apr 30th 2012, 17:39

College Park, MD –  University of Maryland guard Terrell Stoglin has declared for the NBA Draft.

The announcement comes at the same time Stoglin was suspended from the team for a year after violating the school's code of conduct.

Stoglin led the Atlantic Coast Conference in scoring last season, averaging 21.6 points in 30 games. The sophomore was a second-team All-ACC selection.

In addition, the school also suspended sophomore guard Mychal Parker for a code of conduct violation. Parker announced his intention to transfer.

"Being a University of Maryland student-athlete carries a tremendous honor and responsibility," said athletic director Kevin Anderson in a statement. "As much as we appreciate the effort these two young men gave to the program this season, they were unable to live up to that responsibility. We're disappointed, but hope they use this as a learning experience."

Parker averaged 4.3 points and 3.0 rebounds in 32 games for the Terrapins last season.
