| Orioles rally late to stun A's Apr 29th 2012, 20:44 Baltimore, MD – Matt Wieters hit a two-run double to tie the game in the ninth and Wilson Betemit followed two batters later with a game- winning three-run homer as the Orioles scored five in the ninth to take a 5-2 decision over the Athletics in the finale of a three-game set at Camden Yards on Sunday. A's starter Bartolo Colon pitched 8 1/3 scoreless innings before being lifted in the ninth after singles from J.J. Hardy and Adam Jones. Colon's throwing error put runners on second and third before Grant Balfour (0-1) entered and served up Wieters' game-tying double, and, after an intentional walk, the walk-off homer off the bat of Betemit. Pedro Strop (3-1) earned the victory after pitching a scoreless ninth and starter Tommy Hunter allowed both runs on seven hits over seven innings as the Orioles took two straight to wrap up the series. | |
